Today, aufleben takes shape in two ways:

• We develop our own collections of shirts, shaped by meaningful symbols and the natural worlds that inspire us.

• ​We create distinctive art pieces through collaborations, inspired by nature, atmosphere and meaningful moments.

The meaning behind aufleben

The name aufleben comes from German and means “to revive” or “to come alive again.”

It reflects the idea that each moment holds a quiet opportunity to renew and grow.

The peacock, which appears throughout many of our designs, reflects this recurring cycle. Each year, it sheds its magnificent train feathers and grows them anew – a natural rhythm of transformation and renewal. Across many cultures, the peacock has also been associated with rebirth and immortality.

The plumeria featured in our designs symbolizes beauty, renewal and new beginnings.

Beyond their symbolic meaning, we choose these motifs because we believe they are simply beautiful – both to wear and to live with.

Our imagery often moves between contrasting natural worlds – from snowy mountains to warm deserts – bringing landscapes that rarely meet into a shared balance.

Thoughtful production

Most of our products are created only after they are ordered, helping us avoid unnecessary overproduction. This approach may mean slightly longer delivery times, but it allows us to produce more thoughtfully and with greater care.
